What Difference Does It Make?

Today I attended the first of four class meetings I will have throughout the next couple of months. For this course, which is titled Professional Communications Seminar, we are required to read a book called The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. So far it has been very enlightening.

The picture I posted is an illustration from this book. What do you see in this drawing? Look closely... Depending on your perception, you may see two completely different images. The point of this exercise is to help us better understand that people may see things differently than ourselves. It does not make another person's point of view any more right or wrong as opposed to ours (unless our perception or theirs is completely wrong) it only makes it different from our way of looking at it.
